Understanding the NEET eligibility criteria and application process

In this blog, we will discuss NEET eligibility criteria and application process.

Eligibility Criteria -

The eligibility criteria for NEET exam are as follows:

  1. Age Limit: The minimum age for appearing in NEET is 17 years and the maximum age is 25 years for general category students. For reserved category students, there is a relaxation of 5 years.
  2. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as mandatory subjects. Candidates appearing in their 12th examination are also eligible to apply.
  3. Minimum Marks: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in their qualifying examination. For reserved category students, the minimum marks required are 40%.

Application Process -

The application process for NEET is entirely online. Here are the steps to apply for NEET:

  1. Registration: Candidates need to register themselves on the official website of NTA by providing their basic details such as name, contact number, email id, etc.
  2. Fill in the Application Form: After registration, candidates need to fill in the application form with personal details, educational qualifications, and other relevant information.
  3. Upload Documents: Candidates need to upload their scanned photograph, signature, and other necessary documents in the prescribed format.
  4. Payment of Application Fee: Candidates need to pay the application fee through online mode using debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI.
  5. Submit the Application Form: After completing all the above steps, candidates need to submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.
